MySlidesTagger 3.0

MySlidesTagger works inside of Microsoft® PowerPoint® and enables quick and easy access to your Presentations, slides and images based on tags (keywords) you have assigned to them for easier identification. MySlidesTagger keeps track of these tags and allows you to retrieve and preview the specific Presentation, slide or picture from any location on your computer. MySlidessTagger 3.0 remembers your recent PowerPoint files and images and also allows you to quickly assemble a new presentation by inserting selected slides (previewed in a large recognizable format) from several older files almost instantly.

New in MySlidesTagger 3.0

MySlidesTagger 3.0 has several important improvements over the version 2.0. The easily noticeable change is the redesign of the look and feel of the application. In addition, MySlidesTagger 3.0 now supports Office 2007 and Windows Vista. There have been other less visible improvements under the hood that speed up the software and make it less intrusive to the user.

The MySlidesTagger Toolbar

MySlidesTagger is extremely easy to use because it works from within Microsoft PowerPoint. To access all your presentations, slides and images first click Add-Ins button in PowerPoint top toolbar to bring up MySlidesTagger toolbar. As shown for Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 below, MySlidesTagger toolbar becomes available. In PowerPoint XP/2003 this toolbar is permanently visible right above your slide area.

Browsing Your Tagged Content

To access MySlidesTagger search and retrieval functions click the >Browse< button and the MySlidesTagger dialog box will pop up, as shown below. In the left panel one can see a list of all current Presentations, slides and Images that have been tagged by MySlidesTagger. Presentations that are newly opened are automatically tagged (initially using words from the document name) and kept track of from now on. Also presentations that have been tagged by other users, and are thereafter opened by you, will also have their tags included here. Clicking on presentation from this list will bring up a preview of the presentation (if a new document, creating the previews may take a few moments) and show some embedded information about this document like creation date and last modified date.

From this window you can search and browse through all your presentations, modify (delete or add) current tags, open a presentation and insert the selected presentation page (slide) or image into your current presentation.

Viewing Related Content

When having an opened PowerPoint presentation, within the MySlidesTagger toolbar one can see yellow buttons containing all previously included tags. Pointing the cursor and clicking on one of the tags will bring up the MySlidesTagger browse pop-up window with all documents from the MySlidesTagger Database which has been tagged with the same keyword. This feature allows quick and easy access to the related content.

Tagging Your Own Content

The Tag dialog box lets you assign an unlimited number of arbitrary tags to the user content. This feature allows the user to navigate through the list of similar Presentations that may be only differentiated by a single or two slides. Giving each a unique tag will eliminate the confusion as to which Presentation is which.
